Alternative techniques for the decomposition of partial fractions
Main Article Content
Abstract
The decomposition of a proper fraction into a sum of partial fractions is a technique used on different topics of mathematics and to determine the unknown constants appearing in partial fractions, usually a very laborious process called "method of undetermined coefficients" is used. This article presents alternative techniques to the method of indeterminate coefficients used in the calculus books, which are useful in a variety of cases for the determination of the constants that appear in the partial fractions.
